About Me

My name is Sophie Hodge, and I recently graduated as a mature student from Plymouth University, where I achieved a first class honours degree in English (BA Hons).

I am passionate about history, and am dedicated to committing myself to a career in which I can explore and develop my love of heritage.  I would like to ensure through my work that history and heritage can be retained as an important aspect of the community.

During my recent studies I specialised in the literature of the first world war in relation to disability. Since completing my degree I have worked as a tour guide, presenting hour long tours to the public relating to the history of the Molesworth St Aubyn family, which includes (among other topics) information on the English Civil War, the Eighteenth Century, and radical politicians of the Victorian era.  My interests are varied and I am always willing and interested to learn new things!

I live with my partner, son, and dog in the beautiful Cornish countryside, where we enjoy plenty of peace and quiet - some might say too much peace and quiet!
